Are the Fungi Really Transporting Nutrients?
Trees and fungi seem to transport resources, you know, with a new seedling coming in and tapping into and benefiting from the old elders. Are the fungi actually transmitting nutrients along the myseum for the benefit of the other plants? Or is it their own benefit and the plants are sort of, are they symbiotic or what, what, that's a complicated picture. It's not just bits that are communication, but you're saying they're actual physical resources, atomic material moving along. I often get the question of who's in control here: Is it the plants or the fungi? And the answer is both, right?
