What's the Most Important Thing to You?
When you force people to prioritize, they don't necessarily pop up. This is one of my favorite things that we learned from the project. There are very few cross-pressured voters. There are a lot of cross-positioned voters. And what's the difference? On issues on which people are out of alignment with their party, those things are not priorities for people. So there's no pressure. They don't care about them very much.
