How to Compress a Signal in Reverse

Compressing a signal whilst in reverse would surely change the nature of the way it was compressed dramatically. Compressors suck down when they hear a dramatic change in volume like from a transient of a drum or something. But if that transient happens at the end of the sound versus the beginning, the compressor's effect is going to be wildly different. So I set up my son's drum kit in the hall and gave it a quick tap.
