The Rosenberg Case - A Brief History

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were charged with conspiracy to commit espionage under the 1917 Espionage Act. The case was caught up in a tide of growing anti-communist hysteria as President Harry Truman saw it as a chance to strike back against communism. In February 1951 just eight days before the Rosenbergs trial was set to begin David Greenglass made a decision that would change everything. He gave false testimony that strengthened the case against Julius and implicated Ethel His betrayal of his sister would prove critical in building the case against the Rosenbergs.
