Psychology has reached the point now where you do have to specialize, but there's still a feeling where like you can still be a psychologist and kind of know pretty enough about every element of psychology to just speak about it at least. This is the bigger questions because we're taking the brain that makes sense of math and trying to understand that thing. And so it's so specialized that even people who are really the top of their field, you know, people who like have won the fields medal, which is the equivalent for the Nobel Prize in math.
In this episode we explore the weirdness and wonder of Math Without Numbers with mathematician Milo Beckman who wrote a book about the math behind multiple infinities, strange topologies, and extra dimensions, all without using numbers to explain some of the most fascinating and complex ideas that usually only make sense when scribbled in strange notations on a blackboard.
