The Risk of Bleeding in Patients on Coumadin

A score greater than or equal to three is predictive of bleeding events. People depending on their Chads Vasks score can have a quite high risk of emblis and it's not a benign thing to take them off and bridge them. The S is for prior stroke. The B is for predisposition to bleeding or anemia so the B for bleeding meaning a predisposition to bleed. L is for a labile INR or someone on a vitamin K antagonist like Warfarin. E is for being elderly and that's defined as age greater than 65.
