Chiang Yi died in 1801, leaving the Confederacy with some 1500 ships and 60,000 pirates. Chiang's widow took over as leader of the Confederate forces. How could a woman from humble origins end up becoming a true pirate queen? We don't even know her name but she is referred to as Changi-sao or Qingxi by sources.
