Labor's Housing Bill Is Stalled Because the Greens Party Room Decided Not to Allow It to Come to a Vote
Greens party room decided this week that you weren't going to be progressing it in the Senate. We're pushing back because our view is that Labor's current proposal will see the housing crisis get worse. They're not spending $10 billion in housing, they're getting $10 billion of public money and gambling on the stock market via Peter Costello's Future Fund which last year lost 1.2%. And finally, they're not doing anything for renters, like literally proposing nothing. That's one third of the country and we're talking about family sleeping in their cars, copying $200 a week rent increases and being evicted for the first time.
