A Deaf Actor's Journey

I've been manhandled into position, told only when to sit and where to look. I wasn't allowed to do my job as an actor because I was deaf. You want to speak up, but then you remember who pays the price. We must judge people independently of their community. But sometimes one radical voice can represent the mood of many. There are different forms of radical acting. I value the hearing I have. And there'll be a million personal moments where sound brings me something magical, but I won't share them with you.
