The FSI Guide to Language Learning Time
The FSI guide estimates the number of classroom hours required for a native English speaker to achieve proficiency in each category. These estimates are based on intensive language training programs provided by the FSI. The CEFR is a widely accepted framework for language proficiency recognized across Europe and beyond. It provides detailed description of language levels ranging from A1, meaning beginner, to C2, meaning proficient.
