Coaching Is Not Just Teaching, It's Coaching
The great teaching kind of precedes the great coaching. I know coaches that are really just more like teachers, but it feels a little like teaching when they talk. When you're a great coach, it's kind of like being a great therapist where your job is to take things out of people's space so that they can move past them. The best coaches are really astute listeners and they're able to really listen not only to the content of what you're saying, but they're also able to hear what's behind it.
