The Myth of It's Harder to Learn a Second Language as an Adult
I feel like at around the age of six or seven you have like a basic working vocabulary that you can communicate in conversation with any adult that speaks the same language as you. We also don't usually expect an adult learner of a language to not say anything for the first year or two right? It's their job to just learn and sound like a child again which as an adult is quite unsettling for for people to speak like a child once again. I think so many people have this idea that almost that it's not worth learning a language as an adult because you can't learn as well or it's so much harder, he says.
