We didn't build a new version of the software side-by-side with the old one. We had seen many cases of companies doing that and having a really rocky migration path for customers moving from the old version to the new ones. So what that meant is we needed to create an entirely new front-end for the app using the new tech stack, but it needed to exist in parallel with the old version. If they didn't like it, they could go back. And we had a lot of people do that.
