The Future of Artificial Intelligence
We constantly have to redefine what we think that all leads all common sense in anything involving aliens. If it's alien there's a good chance it's not actually biological it might be alien artificial intelligence and we don't know how they might show up but you have to look through the various options that could have go on for that. It shouldn't be so difficult for an alien civilization particularly if they've had millions of years to develop to be able to search for radio waves everywhere or maybe you could explain the fermi paradox.
