CHAPTER

O Nitive Linguistics Is an Alternative to Embodied Cognition

O nitive linguistics is a subset of embodied cognition, which we touched on with benjamin bergen back in episode 94. This is an alternative to the language first approached that was proposed by chomsky and assumed by the first generation of cognitive neuro scientists. The key idea is that thinking and cognition precede guage. That's why i would say that animals can have knowledge even though they don't have language.
