Immutable Architecture - What Is It?

The first distributeve system that i ever worked on was for a hospitality company. We were building a a gif card system stored byou. And the idea was that this was for restaurants that didn't have very good internet connections. So as people went from one restaurant to another redeeming value, we had to make sure that the the transactions preceded them,. and we knew what their card balance was when they got there.
