The Importance of Rest Periods in Recovery
You can manipulate that recovery to keep your VO2 elevated, right? So each time you start an interval, the first period of that will be not a very high VO2. But if you say you went from a three minute recovery to a one minute recovery, your VO2 does not have the time to come back down. This is because of something called WPRIME, which is basically your anaerobic capacity. And when is someone's WPRIME fully restored so they can then do another interval, for example.
