Is There a Drawback to Using a Team App?

Email still has a place at Gooder, but only about 20% of employees use it daily. The company uses Slack and Zendesk to communicate with external companies. Do you feel like there are any drawbacks to using a team app like that? I'm sure there are. I'm just not thinking about it.
