Snenno and the Shogunate

Snenno left Skeji once again to go back to her small tenement in Kanda. There she begged at a local employment office until they gave her the only job available, as a maidservant for a small family of samurai. She could have waited around with Bunchichi to be sent home, throw herself on Guiou's mercy and beg not to be cut off from the family. Here Snenno made another choice. By the 11th lunar month of 1839, Snenno was working full time as a maid for the family of Matsudaira Tomo Saburo.
