The Cost of the Nation State
The church managed to keep things pretty civil for a couple of hundred years, although they were sort of pretending to run things in the name of good. But now we can see that violence is back on the rise. So that's what happened. The nation state came in five centuries ago. And this old book's really been in analogy. Those things were the same before. It ran about ways that sort of happened again. This is very early days where he says this new information age technology is the new mega political force that's going to change everything. That's basically what he's saying here.
