When you see something in front of you, you're going to be much better able to pinpoint areas of opportunity and issues that the company is having. I'd highly encourage you to spend more time preparing and doing the research before you even submit an application or before you jump into an informational interview. 80% of success when it comes to interviewing in the job search is done before you walk in the room. It's done in the preparation.
