i'm actually surprised by how much credence people give to data. People are willing to change their minds more than i expect when you show them a compelling data point in that direction. There's a notion that everyone's so stuck in their way at they just ignore facts. And it hasn't been true in my experience. So nasim talib is popularizing some ideas by ben mendelbrota says that a lot of financial markets are run by power laws. We're a normal distribution, and most of the people will be very close to the average. Power law laws tend to come from anything with kind of multiplicate effects,. where some initial edge is going to lead to even more
