Animal Rights

I don't think animals have rights, because I don't think they have moral agency or reason or free choice. But I do think they have a sort of moral stature as kind of created beings if you want to put it in religious language. So the way I sometimes explain it is, so here's what they don't write. If you saw a lion rip apart a lamb, a goat, right, and eat part of it, you wouldn't think lion did anything more wrong than beating one of my goats to death with a baseball bat. And that horror would be distasteful but you see me doing it as something like deeply problematic because somehow I'm acting against my reasonable nature.
