The First Time I Was Volunteering in Calais

I think that I had been doing activism for a while not realising it was activism. The first time that I was like this feels like activism was probably going to Calais for the first time and volunteering. There are quite a few hundred people who are displaced from their homes who are trying to get to the UK because there's currently no safe routes. Anyone in the world is allowed to seek asylum and it's a human right to seek asylum but there aren't safe routes of travel so people have to take unsafe routes.
