The Dangers of Subjective Consumer Sense of the Economy
A portion of our economy, specifically people with white collar jobs, are willing to pay these higher prices. And so that is exceptionally difficult for people further down the economic scale who are suffering. The fastest wage growth has been at the bottom end; restaurant workers have seen pain creases more than 20%. It's really reduced between black and white Americans, for example. That just blows me away. Back to when Reagan was said was morning in America, it was a 9% point gap. It's now 1.8.
