The Role of Social Dialects in Language Development
Social dialects can exist inside of a situation where people speak differently because of their social position. Women don't always talk the same way as men, which is an interesting thing to think about. And if in a patriarchal society, if women are speaking differently than men, that may not necessarily be stigmatized on its own. But it can be more stigmatizing for a man to be speaking the way a woman stereotypically speaks,. Or something like that.
