How to Forgive Yourself When You Blame Yourself for a Mistake

When we're connected to that we might feel sadness, frustration. But these are quite different feelings in terms of their effect on our spirit and on our bodies than how we feel when we blame ourselves. We call this kind of self ampathy, empathizing with the need being expressed behind self blame. Mourning our limitations that we didn't meet a need by what we did after we have helped the person to mourn.
