How Much Ice Is Down There?

Emma smith is a research fellow in antarctic psyzology at the university of leeds. She uses sound waves to scan down through the ice, like you would make an ultra sound measurement in a hospital. Her specialism allows her to essentially travel back in time and analyze the atmosphere one point five million years ago. When she goes out, she camps on the ice but has to take what we lovingly refer to as a 'pobin' which is like ig bucket with lid - it's used for going to the loo.
