Specialization in Software Engineering
I think that more and more we are finding that we need these specializations. And I think also it has to do with how we're building our applications these days. Remembering when I started software engineering, it was sort of like one big single page application. We actually have started to break up our back ends into lots of microservices. It's a chicken and egg thing: Did we specialize first? Or did we start building things differently?
