I love the way you take the idea of a diary, suggest it and then reveal its absolute uselessness to you as a tool for ordering thoughts of loss and pain. I think I've read Denise's essay 20 times and it's really unusual how different it is between readings. It's a completely different essay every time you enter into it which must mean that something between what you've written about and the form you've chosen has been highly successful in addressing its subject. You know grief is this extraordinary, barbed gift that one carries... next time we'll talk about football.
