But when you look at research on real life, people who substitute sugar with artificial sweetened food and drinks actually feel less hungry,. eat fewer calories and generally lose weight faster than groups who don't have the sugar substitute. There was a recent consensus statement by experts in nutrition, medicine, physical activity and public health which said low calorie sweeteners contribute to better glycemic control.
