Building a Network Effects Company

In a network effects company, you've got to get critical mass scale of the network often times before you monetize. Nokia looked at this and said, oh, we don't want LinkedIn spreading through our employees, so they're going to ban LinkedIn. The actual only impact was, I think it was 23 people resigned their accounts out of LinkedIn, and the growth rate continued exponentially within Nokia. We didn't need to necessarily get to an exponential curve, but we wanted to get to a good set of examples by which we had good growth.
