The Impetus for Investing in Public Securities
When you were at Quadsea, it was this amalgamation of your partner's idea and yours. And my preference was I wanted to do investing in publicly traded securities; those two typically different worlds. So we created a hybrid where we'd ask folks that we know that have some money to put money in public securities while we were looking for control investments. We had a punch card that every time we made an investment, we had to click it. You really had to have this high bar to make an investment.
