The Law of Land Warfare
The law of land warfare has been relevant to the major Western combatants for a very long time. The issue is not does it exist, but under what circumstances is it enforceable? And that's where international law doesn't exist because at the end of a war, the person who won gets to decide. There was a substantially different way in which Soviet prisoners of war were treated by the Nazi regime and American and British prisoners of warwere treated by the Nazis.
