The Death of Sign Language
Some tribes today continue to use both voice and signs as a normal part of their communication. Has that pretty much died out? You know, there's a very small percent of people who still use it. The rest has died out in my tribe. No one signs anymore. I know they did use it in the past, but it was from the boarding school tradition of the boarding school. It kind of destroyed that part of the language, destroyed the spoken language and with it, the sign language. And so we're trying to bring that back and fix that error of history.
