The Federal Reserve's Oversight of Silicon Valley Bank
The Fed Vice Chair for Supervision said supervisors could have done more to keep tabs on Silicon Valley Bank before it collapsed. A bar is leading an internal review of the agency's oversight of SBB. The FDIC is now facing nearly $23 billion in cost from those recent bank failures. Sources say officials are looking to limit the strain on community lenders by shifting an outsized portion of that sum toward much larger institutions.
