The Effect of Overcorrecting on Skill Acquisition

There's some research on skill acquisition that shows that when you're trying to make subtle shifts to movements, oftentimes you have to do them like egregiously wrong. If you're used to running a certain way, you don't know how your foot hits the ground or what your legs feel like because you've been doing it forever. Overcorrecting just kind of tunes in your brain and say, hey, hey, pay attention. There's feedback here. We can we need to hear it.
