What John saw happen at Easter isn't just about material existence, like getting reconfigured in the future. It's about a new way of existing that the resurrection opened up. Right now because of what Jesus did in his life and death and resurrection, he's committed to making his people new. A follower of Jesus is somebody with a foot in two worlds, in the old heaven and earth and in the new heaven and earth.
