The Importance of Communication in Product Management
The word product precedes the word manager. The assumption is I'm going to manage the product. Same is true of design manager or engineering manager. We're saying, oh, you're really good at pushing pixels around. You must also be good at managing people. That's a fundamental flaw in the way that we're setting up these communication structures.
