This was just a regular guy who dedicated himself to living out what he experienced that morning at the tombs. I think it's this idea about being reborn into ordinaryness. It was a real sacrifice of sort of an ego orientation toward inflation. Jung had a sense in his own imagination that although he was born in the modern era, he said that his psyche was more akin to a twelfth century man. One of the things that it meant was his natural penchant to move through the world and to see it as sacred.
