The Different Priorities of the Allied Coalition

When we look back at World War II and the Allied Coalition, it's hard not to mentally think of them as a hive mind. But that is not the case whatsoever because they are very different priorities among the members. On the American side, they were very hot to fight an aggressive war in the Pacific. The British wanted a simple holding action there,. basically a defense of hold where they are until we beat the Germans then we'll take care of the Japanese.
