What's the Magic of Open AI?
GPT was started in 2015 as a nonprofit. They were seated by some big named backers with the intention not to make money, but instead to just solve really hard research problems or the AGI problems. It wasn't until more recently in 2019 that they switched their DNA to be this capped profit. So for those that haven't been following on, the investors can only make 100x their returns. And then the rest of that profit goes back into the foundation to help fulfill this mission of bringing AGI to the world.
