The Origins of Light Carbon

The amount of carbon that our huge industrial complex in the world puts into the atmosphere every year is about four gigatons. We're talking about 2000 to 7000 gigatons of carbon that were injected in a very short period of time. A massive amount in terms of Earth's history to cause that warming. The question is, where does that carbon come from? And in particular, it's what we call light carbon.
