The Problem of College Education in the United States

I think it's education. It has been, it's just been a human problem. And also the philo of education in our lifetimes that there's been a real departure from this idea of education as a place where one finds oneself and explores truth to a very vocationally driven type of education. I've had a notion, you know, we have this graduate institute where the people who come are mostly any in the twenties, but sometimes in the seventies. We expect them to be reading difficult stuff of a high intellectual order while we're thinking about love affairs. It doesn't work.
