The Importance of Skill and Taste in Turntable Music
I went to see an amazing set by Egyptian lover where he was playing an all-prince set. He had two copies of every record by Prince that he wanted to play and he just beat juggled between them. That made me feel like that's really a wonderful DJ. It's funny because I interviewed A-Track on the show and obviously one of the legends in the turntableist world. Skill alone. Do you know what I mean? Won't get you. No, it's a virtualists and musicians, isn't it? But it's a wonderful thing when skill and taste unite and you're just like, ah, this is something else, man.
