How to Collect a Sample of Three Thousand Protests?

When i wrote the proposal, i actually checked that back up what i wrote at that time. And then i try to extract, extrapolate, like, ok, how much will i find? The original idea was i had a sample of forty cities, and i kind of extrapolated i'd find about a hundred cases per year. When i thought, ok, i collect everything from two thousand seven to two thousand 16, and i estimate it to get like something like a thousand cases altogether. Tats how i calculated my research funding. But 93 % of the cases i collected were from social media through that block, and 88 % of these were exclusively on social media.
