Ammonia in Power Generation

Supposing the fertiliser market grows by half by 2050. All of it goes low carbon and a third of it ends up being shipped internationally. That would increase ammonia trading from 18 to 94 million tonnes per year. It is however only 17 million tonnes on a hydrogen mass basis. What about ammonia in power generation? Japan is betting big on it. Its national decarbonisation plan is based on retaining its coal-fired power stations but fueling them with increasing proportions of ammonia, first 20%, then 50%, then 100% by 2050.
