Positivism is the idea that a society can decide what kind of law it has. The core of natural law is that in some way there's some fundamental truth about what the law is. This does relate to a second definition of positivism that sometimes floats around, and that actually gets confused in the book. Even even those lawyers are going to like mostly need to engage in conventional legal argument.
