God Is Nothing but What He Is
Boethius says that God is simply goodness itself. This looks like a good way of securing God's utter simplicity, he writes. But adding relations to something doesn't affect what it is in itself, Boethius adds. In the same way, God is subject to relations like fatherhood and sonhood without this turning him into more than one thing.
