i think it's probably a little combination of both, and that's why it works so effectively. prior had, apparently, from reports, this incredible courage where he would believe in a story or an idea to the point where he just did not care about late, finding the cheap laughs in it. He wanted to find the essential truth in it. And i think that doing that night after night would battle harden you for the idea. I'm always looking for wares next laugh, where's the next joke? Even if i'm completely spit balling off the top of my head, i'm looking for those beats where the audience would be laughing. So im so sowo debe
